Dietary rituals
have played a role in many religions and cultures since the beginning
of time. This session will discuss the dietary laws of the several
larger and/or growing religious groups in the United States.
Discussion
will include the dietary rituals, the belief behind the 'food rules',
potential health implications and considerations in accommodating the
respective dietary restrictions in the food service operation.
In this practical webinar you will learn to:
-Provide an overview of food rituals tied to religious belief sets.
-Discuss the impact these rituals may have on food service operations including suggestions for accommodating the diet(s).
-Increase awareness of the implications of some practices on individual health- especially the practice of fasting.
