Web-based PA cAARds Training!


What is PA cAARds?
A statewide training initiative that educates attendees on a brief intervention and referral process developed to proactively address the dual risks of unmanaged diabetes and tobacco use.

Who Should Attend?
Diabetes Professionals and Paraprofessionals including, but not limited to, nurses, diabetes educators, pharmacists, health care providers, social workers, and paraprofessionals.

What are the Training Objectives?
·       To increase the use of the Ask Advise Refer brief intervention in diabetes and tobacco programs.
·       To increase the use of PA cAARds! among community-based health care organizations.
·       To improve understanding of statewide and local resources for diabetes education and management and tobacco cessation services
·       To improve understanding of integrated strategies.

The following continuing education credits/contact hours will be provided at no charge to participants: Nursing (3.25hrs), Dietician (3.5hrs CPK), Social Worker (3.0hrs), and General CEU's (3.0hrs)
