Join NFCA as Rachel Begun, also known as The Gluten Free RD, NFCA Ask the Dietitian blogger and a member of NFCA's Scientific/Medical Advisory Board, explores how “food as medicine,” a central component of the growing prevention and wellness paradigm, can be used in the management of celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.

Learning Objectives:

1. Explain how celiac disease affects the body and list the symptoms and associated long-term conditions.
2. Identify the common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease and provide recommendations for how to increase intake to build bodily stores.
3. Make dietary and supplement recommendations to rebuild gut health in celiac patients requiring additional treatment.

Special Feature: Webinar participants will have the chance for Rachel to answer their questions after attending the live event. Webinar participants can submit questions from the close of the webinar until Friday, January 27, 2012 at 12noon ET.

Continuing Education Credit: Registered Dietitians (RD) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTR) are able to participate in this live 60-minute webinar to obtain CE credits regardless of this program's approval status as long as the webinar is professional in nature. RDs and DTRs need to retain a copy of the program evaluation available after their participation. Program participants will receive a link to complete the program evaluation one day after the close of the webinar.
